IT'S OFFICE THURSDAY! [May. 8th, 2008|08:53 am]
[Tags|, ]

Only two more Office Thursdays to go this season. :(

HIGH FIVE!

How disappointing to have John Krasinski come running up to you yelling, "baby baby baby" and he's talking to your stomach...

Did you hear that John McCain announced his running mate on the Daily Show last night? Watch it here. (there's a reason this is going in the Office Thursday post)

Does Anybody Know What Time the Next Water Show Is??? [May. 5th, 2008|10:31 am]
[Tags|]

Boston Katie sent me this picture on my cell:

That's her in there. I don't know why.

But it made me remember the greatest Snickers commercial of ALL TIME. Maybe only if you've worked at a theme park, but certainly most people have had idiots come up to them at work with stupid, stupid questions.

I actually had somebody ask me "What time is the 3:00 parade?" And I bit down the sarcasm and politely informed them that the parade would be passing by our location about 3:20.

And now, ladies and gentlemen, Barky the Dog:

ETA: I have since been informed that they were having a story time at their office. Take Your Kids, perhaps?

Back in the Day [Apr. 10th, 2008|02:03 pm]
[Tags|, , ]

In honor of a new Office today--IT'S BEEN FIVE FRIGGING MONTHS! ARRGH!--I went to find some video of the Dunder Mifflin employees back before they were Dunder Mifflin employees.

Enjoy:

Steve (Michael Scott) Carell on The Dana Carvey Show:

John (Jim Halpert) Krasinski in a Kodak Commercial (you have to wait for it):

Jenna (Pam Beesly) Fischer on Undeclared:

Rainn (Dwight Schrute) Wilson on Six Feet Under:

BJ (Ryan Howard) Novak on Comedy Central (couldn't find Punk'd):

Ed (Andy Bernard) Helms on The Daily Show:

Exactly six more hours until The Office.

Yes, I know it's 2:10 but we watch it on DVR, so you have to wait 10 minutes!

Is this Laser Cats? [Apr. 6th, 2008|07:25 pm]

The adorableness of the baby pug saves it.

Christopher Walken made his 100th (says him) hosting appearance on SNL this weekend. He's always good.

That's not your phone Grandpa!

I can't find the Annuale commercial, even though they've already run it twice... So how about an old classic:

Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball:

Yes, that is Phil Hartman doing the voice-over. Don't cry. It will be okay.

Wait, here we go:

I just love that "adorable" is a category. [Mar. 25th, 2008|09:46 pm]
[Tags|, , ]

YouTube awards were announced recently.

This one is the winner in the "adorable" category. AND IT IS! IT'S FUCKING ADORABLE!

I'd only seen two of them before. The Music Winner, "Chocolate Rain" (how is that voice coming out of that dude?), and the Comedy Winner, The Potter Puppet Pals in "Mysterious Ticking Noise". What's crazy is that I don't even think that's the funniest of the PPP skits.

If you go here one of the puppeteers has been blogging about their experience visiting Google's headquarter's as part of the awards.

Your mother is a blast-ended skank.

I may have a problem. [Feb. 1st, 2008|04:14 pm]
[Tags|, , ]

So I saw on another blog that there's this website, netdisaster.com, where you can use these little animated whatnots to "destroy" a webpage. So I did it to my own. I think the protesters are my favorite, but I noticed an AWFUL lot of John Krasinski going by. Except for the Wooly Lemur album cover, he's in every other picture that went by. Although the protester with the "Affleck was the BOMB in Phantoms" sign did give me a laugh.

What the hell. I might as well submit to forces beyond my control.

LEATHERHEADS!!! I want this movie to come out NOW. It looks SO GOOD.

"That ain't no Etch-a-Sketch. This is one doodle that can't be undid, home-skillet." And now I can not think of a funnier thing than hearing Rainn Wilson call someone "home-skillet."

This movie looks really fucking good.

Name's Mose, Buddy. [Oct. 23rd, 2007|10:07 am]
[Tags|, , ]

Okay, can the Office please contain more Mose Schrute? I'm not saying major role or anything, just hanging around in the periphery somewhere?

He was great in this last episode (LOVE the Jurassic Park jammies), and this may be the funniest deleted scene... EVER. (NBC doesn't let you embed their videos, so you just have to click here.

EVIL! EVIL, I SAY! [Oct. 12th, 2007|12:30 pm]
[Tags|, ]

This is why nobody likes you. :|

Katie from Boston is evil. Definitively.

WARNING! THIS WOMAN IS EVUL!

I don't know how many of you are aware of it, but I'm a little bit obsessed with Disney Park Characters. I collect them like shiny baubles. Last count, I had 122, not counting Star Wars Weekends (7).

I have nearly every character that is seen in the parks with any regularity. I've heard rumors of more obscure characters, like Kit Cloudkicker, but I've never seen 'em. Rebecca (from TaleSpin) is probably one of my most obscure.

Know who I don't have? GASTON. And I want a picture with Gaston SO BAD. He's a performer in the Beauty & The Beast show at Disney-MGM Studios--and he's awesome, at least when I've seen the show. I've also been told that he only takes pictures between performances (not after the last one of the day) and only with kids from Give Kids the World (Make-a-Wish). I almost talked my way into a picture once, by schmoozing the gate guards, but they said there was no way to get a picture that late in the day, even playing the "cast member" card.

Katie is in Orlando right now. I got a text message from her the other day that said, "OMG! I just got my pic with Gaston!" To which I immediately texted back, "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?" I was freaking out! She was living my dream!

I left her a voice mail insisting that she call me immediately to tell me all about it! She was just lying. Admitted she was just bored waiting for the parade, and she decided to pass the time, she'd antagonize me for no reason. EVIL!

POTTERFEST BEGINS!! [Jul. 12th, 2007|12:03 am]
[Tags|, , , , , ]

When My Nerd Stuff Collides:

and

Ohhh. It's getting exciting. In a week and a half it will all be over. I'll know whether or not Harry Potter lives or dies. Or dies and then re-lives. Whatever. If you hear anything about what happens in the last book, I do not want to know. Keep it to yourself. I'm planning a moratorium on the internet (& probably tv too) until I finish the book, because I don't want anybody to ruin it for me.

Today was day one of the movie-palooza. Jen was very keen to watch all the movies again before seeing Order of the Phoenix (for $4 on Saturday). So tonight we watched Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone and Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets, while we enjoyed Shepherd's Pie, Trifle and Butterbeer (or as the Muggles call it, Cream Soda and Butterscotch Schnapps--you'd have to ask Bob the ratio, he was the mixer). The Butterbeer was really good. It smelled like waffles and tasted like DELICIOUS. And it was hot pink. I told Jen that if we do this again we can get the A&W Cream Soda that comes in a more beer-like color.

Tomorrow we're watching Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban and Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire and eating Fish & Chips. Which we will be purchasing from Long John Silver's. Or Captain D's. Whichever that is out on Page.

And then on Saturday morning--Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix.

So, in anticipation of new movie & book, some Harry Potter videos from Robot Chicken:

SECOND BASE:

JK ROWLING GETS HER BRILLIANT IDEA: (you can stop watching this one after 35 seconds, if you want)

Daniel Radcliffe is a Skank. I'm just sayin'.

And this is completely unrelated to Harry Potter, but it's also completely awesome, so I had to put it up:
More.

No Opnion Yet [Jun. 3rd, 2007|09:53 pm]
[Tags|, , , ]

So, I haven't decided yet what I think about the Flight of the Conchords show.

It's weird, which is kind of what I expected, but I don't know if I like it. The songs are good, but the inbetween... I need some time to digest it.

You can watch it here:

"I'm not upset because you left me this way.
My eyes are just a little sweaty today."

Hey! Look! Mika has a puppet, too! No, wait. That's a kid. I really like this song. To the point where I don't even care if it gets stuck in my head, it's just like "All right! Now I get to hear this song in my head all day!"
"I can be brown, I can be blue, I can be violet sky.
I can be hurtful, I can be purple, I can be anything you like."

I watched the first live Mtv Movie Awards tonight. It was pretty crappy--but John Krasinski was a presenter, so that was good. And I continue to enjoy Shia LeBoeuf. Transformers/Chevy basically sponsored the whole thing, so he was around a LOT.

"The next three presenters all have names that describe them. Robin Williams is like the first robin of spring. Mandy Moore always leaves me wanting more. And John Krasinski is a dirty Polock." --Sarah Silverman
