Go Cardinals! Go Cardinals! Go Cardinals!

Reasons I didn't update sooner: (1) I sincerely tried to post on Tuesday, but I literally had NOTHING to say. I started writing a post and there was just nothing. It was weird. (2) Wednesday I was at Jen & Bob's until midnight--the problem with DVR is that you don't realize how late it's getting while you're watching the stuff you taped earlier in the evening. (3) Too depressed over Cardinal loss to type. (4) Thursday = too focused on the game and the ensuing jumping up & down.

Plus, I was injured.

Wednesday was weekly dinner with Jen & Bob & Monika. Since the recipes in my Disney cookbook were a little more experimental than Monika was willing to go, I decided to go to the other extreme and choose recipes from the little old ladies in the country church cookbook Grandma gave me. Plus, Jen & Monika were talking about how they'd never had meatloaf, and they didn't understand how one made a meat loaf. But since that would be far too plain for our weekly dinners, we did a meatloaf with a twist--Meatloaf Cordon Bleu.

It worked out pretty well. Except for the part where I CUT OFF MY FINGER!!!

No, just kidding, I only NEARLY cut my finger. I ended up taking out a big chunk of my nail when the onion chopping got away from me. But I found it, so it was not possibly IN the meatloaf.

Jen was blaming me for the loss on Wednesday. Out of nowhere she starts with me: "Why is your husband playing so badly? You know you're not supposed to have sex the night before a game!" (She likes to refer to Chris Carpenter as my husband.)

Even though it stressed me out watching such a close game, I couldn't deny how impressive that catch that robbed us of a home run was. Besides, we have Yadier to set things right. After the game I got a call from Jen, congratulating me that my secret lover (Adam Wainwright) saved the day. Apparently, I get around.

Nice flowers, huh? They've been sitting on my desk at work since Tuesday. I'd like to say that they're a gift from an admirer, but they're not actually mine. They belong to a co-worker who's away on vacation. Doesn't that just suck? It's rare enough to get flowers at work, but to miss your flowers? So I brought my camera in so she could at least have PICTURES of her flowers. And they'll last longer anyway.

It was a big day for the Cavalier. 100,000 miles. I've had my camera with me to capture the event. Come over sometime and I'll show you the video. :)

So, I figured, since I call my blog "A little bit OCD", I should at least show you what I mean when the situation presents itself. This is how I eat multi-colored candy. I only ate the Skittles (I don't taste the rainbow, I just taste one stripe at a time), but I can nearly guarantee you that when I do eat Startbursts, I'll start with one pink & one yellow, so I have 1 (red), 2 (orange), 3 (yellow), 4 (pink) left.

Kim,

I do that stuff all the time (separating things by some characteristic). I have done it for as long as I can remember. So if you're ever involved in a research study, tell them, "My dad did the same kinds of things."

Dad

Well, I don't think it's literally OCD, but it's part of what I consider "My OCD". It also includes being annoyed by things that aren't at proper right angles, particularly to other things nearby.
